In America we have a system of government for the people by the people. We have built a society on the idea that a person has a right to his own body, his own words, and his own thoughts. That whatsoever a man can do, so long as he does not infringe on the rights of others, he is allowed and encouraged to do. There has been for over 50 years however, a tyranny in the world that is allowed by America.
OPEC's Mission is thus; to coordinate and unify the petroleum policies of Member Countries and ensure the stabilization of oil markets in order to secure an efficient, economic and regular supply of petroleum to consumers, a steady income to producers and a fair return on capital to those investing in the petroleum industry.
There is nothing wrong with the mission in and of itself, except that it would not have been able to come to be without the help of the most powerful economy and the biggest consumer of petroleum products, America. Western policies permitted Saudi Arabia and other OPEC members to seize private oil producing property, and, in conjunction with that inaction, the West at home established prohibitive controls on the development of oil producing resources as part of environmental and "conservation" policies. This has resulted in the West's perilous dependency on the production whims of OPEC and the transfer of enormous wealth to those regimes and tyrannies.
American rights have been for over 50 years violated by a process of elimination. America is one of the most resource rich countries in the world, with estimations of enough oil in America to last hundreds of years. If such practices, such as freedom, were allowed in America this country would not have to rely so heavily if at all on OPEC. It is this fundamental 'breach of contract' that has allowed this tyrannical organization OPEC to have such power over our country and our economy.
The main problem comes from the inevitability of the decline of petroleum products in America. As more and more environmentalists decree it is our responsibility to reduce our petroleum use, and thus the betterment of mankind.
America must stand alone, as she has always done. In doing what is right, in not allowing other countries or other orginazations to have an unjustified stranglehold on America. Petroleum is one of the most important resources to running a civilized country. To allow one organization to get to such power, to seize American property overseas than to fail at producing the product and asking for American minds to teach them is a vast betrayel by the "land of the free"
You are afraid of a free market monopoly coming in and taking over everything, how about the monopoly we have now? the government, and history has shown the horrors that monopoly has produced.
